Have Cat, Will Travel

Yes, the crazy cat lady is on the move. Lipstick and I have just survived the security checkpoint where my backpack had to be specially screened while I wrestled the baby back into her cat carrier. Which she hates, it must be said. It’s plenty roomy and cute, if I do say so, but still she protests the loss of freedom.

Why bring her you ask?  Because I can. I’d like to have a more sophisticated answer but I don’t. I’m returning to Mississippi for a long visit and I just feel better and happier when she’s with me. My parents have a special section of their house just for us which we nicknamed the cat cave, so we can keep the dog out. Frankly, it’s bigger than my entire condo so Lippy loves it. Plus, there are stairs where she can perch and monitor activities below. Such Joy!

I’m letting the stress of holiday travel wash off me as I try to maintain my sanity and serenity. I’m looking forward to a good visit, but try to keep expectations low–the secret to a happy life. Family, fun, games, and togetherness restores me. I’m blessed to be part of my crew.

Update from Atlanta:  To the couple in seats 37D and 37E:  you didn’t buy seat 37F. I did. Yes, this seat sucks and it is by the window but that’s my seat. So there is really no reason to roll your eyes and act like it’s such a hassle to get up to let me and my kitty in. Seriously, I was tempted to make multiple trips to the bathroom just to torture them, but I was raised better than that. Deep breath. Some people are less kind than we might wish. Bless their hearts.  Now my flight is delayed to Jackson. Again, breathe. Kitty snacks for everyone.

Onward and upward!
