So That Happened

This is not the blog I thought I’d write this morning.  So I don’t have much to say as the election results wash over me.  This is not the leadership I wanted, but apparently, 59 million Americans did.  And so it goes.

Breathe.

The good news is that this is a great country.  Born on big ideas, guaranteed by the Constitution and full of hope, grit and fortitude.  America is bigger than any one event, one movement or one President.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. (Declaration of Independence)

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. (Preamble to the Constitution)

I’m off to photograph the redwoods of northern California.  There are three national and state parks up there with outstanding Coastal Redwoods towering hundreds of feet in the air, some of which are 1000s of years old.   I need to be reminded that the arc of life is long.     We all do.
